And the winner is…….

Commenter number 17, that’s Vic from Punky & Me. I was boring and used random.org to draw the winner, I know there were lots of more interesting drawing methods getting around, but this worked for my energy levels tonight. Thanks everyone for entering my first giveaway. Vic, I hope you enjoy your brown paper package; I shall get your details and pop it in the post for you.

I am so glad I played along with Blogtoberfest; I have met lots of interesting bloggers and learnt so much as I begin this blogging journey. Thanks so much to Cathy for hosting Blogtoberfest, I look forward to playing along again next year.

Spinal

My back is playing up again :( I am glad it doesn’t trouble me as much or as badly as it did when I painted the oil above called “Spinal”.

Don’t forget tonight is you last chance to enter my little giveaway, the winner will be drawn on the last day of Blogtoberfest (tomorrow).

Will you forgive me????

I missed my second day of Blogtoberfest, last time I didn’t feel bad about it as I was really sick. This time I was just slack, the day just got away from me. I have a creative morning planned, so I may be back with another post later in the day to make up for yesterday.

Here are some of the buttons I picked up at my favorite op shop yesterday. Who knows what these little treasures will become!?

Layered

I don’t have much to say today – possibly late Blogtoberfest burnout! So I thought I’d share this abstract, it’s an oil on canvas called “Layered”.
I feel a bit like this looks today, a bit messy and all over the place. This painting hides another, I was never happy with the landscape that was the first painting on the canvas so one night when I felt like painting but didn’t have a canvas prepared I just painted right over the top.
How are you coping with late Blogtober if you are playing along?

Brown paper packages tied up with string…..

It’s the 9th of Blogtober and as 9 is my favorite number I have decided to celebrate with my very first give away. For your ticket to win just join my little band of followers and leave me a comment on this post. That means along with an entry in my competition, you also get to catch up with what I have been up to on a regular basis! Who knows it could be the start of a beautiful friendship.

If you are already one of my followers, thank you, I really appreciate your company and support. So you don’t feel left out just pop me a note in the comments to say hi and you will be in the running too.

I have put together this little prize, I hope you like it. I promise to wrap it in brown paper and tie it in string. There is an original abstract mini painting and a hand painted book mark and magnet along with one of the little owl cards that I printed just the other day.

I will draw the winner on the 30th of October and I’m happy to post anywhere in the world, good luck.

A perfect Sunday morning

Thanks for the flowers Little Guy and Curly Guy.
We indulged in German Pancakes for a late breakfast, a bit of a nod to Blogtoberfest!  The recipe came from Salt and Chocolate, thanks Mary Beth, it was so yummy and so easy, it will be added to our special breakfast repertoire.
What’s your perfect Sunday morning?

Clocktoberfest

Badskirts suggested theme for the third day of Blogtoberfest of Clocktober or clocks seems well timed for me. I suddenly feel overwhelmed by lack of time. Well to be honest there is never enough time, especially with a very, active inquisitive Little Guy in tow. Right now I am feeling the tick tock of the clock because there just isn’t enough time to follow all that is happening in Blogtoberfest. I love Punky & Me's post about this very topic and think I am really going to have to accept that, just like a music festival I can’t see it all.

Speaking of music NOFX last night was fantastic, feeling the bass reverberate through my chest, moving through and with a crowd of thousands, I didn’t realise just how much I had missed this feeling until I was in the thick of it again.

I must rush off and check out some more Blogtoberfest posts and try very hard to pace myself. I couldn’t think of a painting, sculpture or photo that went with today’s post so I have used this little abstract titled “Calm” to remind me to calm down and take it all in!  I also had to include a photo of the painting below it sits so nicely with “Calm”, it’s title is “Healing”, I love the colour and mood in these pieces.

Rocktober

What perfect timing that Roctober is today, the long awaited for October 2nd is here and I am off to see my favorite band tonight. NOFX are playing and we shall be getting the old crew together donning the Doc Martins and heading for the Riverstage, to pretend we are still kids for the night! NOFX are my favorite punk band and a must see every time they tour.

Don’t despair if punk is not your thing my taste in music is so varied, I am sure most people would find something in my eclectic collection to enjoy. The common thread that binds my collection together is music made with passion and talent. Some other favorites are The Waifs, The Dresden Dolls, John Butler, Grinspoon, The Eels, The Cat Empire, The White Stripes, Ten Foot Pole and my mates band Mum’s Tennis Friends.

I could go on and on, but I fear the list would never end. I can’t wait for tonight, I love live music and I don’t get to indulge as much as I would like these days.  Are any of your favorites on my list?

Knocktober

Ok I just had a quick poke around at Badskirt, she has a Blogtoberfest ideas hub. As I was a tad late signing up I am going to post work on Knocktober first and hope I get to Rocktober later in the day.

You have probably guessed my name is Kylie! My passions include painting, drawing, sculpting and taking photos. I don’t think I am all that good at taking photos, but I love doing it, so a lot of them are ending up here on my very new blog.

I am Little Guy’s Mumma; he is an inquisitive, adorable almost 20 month old. I can’t believe how big he is already, where has my baby gone?

I started this blog a few weeks ago to keep me focused on spending time on my creative passions and I am loving blogging and discovering new inspiring blogs everyday.

I am just admitting I may be addicted to buttons, I am feeling ok about admitting it in this forum as there seems to be a lot of other button addicts in bloggland! Today’s photo is of my newest favourite buttons, I found them in a jar of op shop buttons and they are just so precious. Each one has a different picture and can you believe my luck there are nine – my lucky number, bliss!!

Can’t wait to get about and meet some the other festival goers!

Blogtoberfest

I just signed up for Blogtoberfest, how exciting. I wasn’t into blogging (reading or writing) last year so it is a new concept to me. I am excited to see where this takes me, I hope to learn lots and find new bloggy friends and lots of inspiration. I am off to find out more about what shall be happening. Wish me luck!
