Layered

I don’t have much to say today – possibly late Blogtoberfest burnout! So I thought I’d share this abstract, it’s an oil on canvas called “Layered”.
I feel a bit like this looks today, a bit messy and all over the place. This painting hides another, I was never happy with the landscape that was the first painting on the canvas so one night when I felt like painting but didn’t have a canvas prepared I just painted right over the top.
How are you coping with late Blogtober if you are playing along?

  1. Struggling - wonder if I'll ever blog again once it is over!
I like the painting... I'm relating to it too at this time.
Not long to go... you can do it!!!

  2. It is getting rather tiresome, isn't it?! You know what is crazy - last month I blogged every day bar one & thought nothing of it, but when I HAVE to do it... well, it's an entirely different matter.

I love that you painted over your original painting - I've done that too, so did the old masters mind you, as they were too poor to buy new supplies, so hurrah, we are in good company AND the new painting has a story to boot.

Thank you for your awesome comment on my Opshopping post, I don't mind the long comment, it made me happy to wake up this morning & see it, to be honest!

On the button bracelet; I need a bigger, stronger, heat resistant needle next time, but apart from that it is more fun than work, I don't know if it's the destructive child in me but piercing the buttons with a glowing neele is really quite satisfying!!

  3. Actually I'm quite surprised to say that I'm thriving on having to blog daily.

Lovely painting, I especially like the idea that there's something else beneath it.

  4. I love a bit of abstract art and I tend to re-use canvasses too. If at first you don't succeed then just paint over and try again!
I need another butterfly brooch road tester - are you interested by any chance?
